The CPM project, “Development and Implementation of a Process for the Production of Complex Gears through Mechanical Powder Compaction” (Project No. F/190175/01-02/X44, CUP: B86G20000740005, COR: 3761963), funded by the Fund for Sustainable Growth, was initiated on January 11, 2021, and concluded on January 10, 2024. The research and development activities were hosted at the Scafati and Imola sites, aiming at innovations in the field of metal powder pressing.
Purpose: To develop an advanced process for the manufacturing of high-density components, overcoming existing technological limits and improving production efficiency and component quality.
Expected Results: To achieve a material density between 7.1 and 7.6 g/cm³, with the production of at least 10,000 components and a printing frequency of 3-5 pieces per minute.
Achieved Results: Expectations were exceeded with approximately 50,000 components produced, reaching densities up to 7.6 g/cm³. The adoption of innovative solutions such as gear mold adapters and quick change systems has increased efficiency and reduced production times.
These successes strengthen industrial competitiveness and demonstrate a commitment to developing sustainable solutions.
